The WMO - Virtual Internship is an innovative, pro-active and unique possibility for students and professionals to get involved in the strategic business of running a global organization. Hereby, the participant is not forced to leave his / her hometown but is encouraged to make use of multimedia communication tools in order to get in touch with the tutor, and to realize the corresponding tasks.
1) Content and procedure: The internship generally takes 8 weeks. During the first month, the student is asked to obtain professional knowledge by realizing a short training on core topics, such as: International Mediation, International Organizations, International Diplomacy, International Treaty Law. Beside the reading of listed literature, he / she is also asked to realize a written assignment per topic.
During the second month, the intern will be able to make use of the recently obtained knowledge and to start the strategic work that forms a main aspect of the day-to-day business of WMO executives. Each week will be dedicated to a specific topic. Hereby, the intern will have sufficient time to reflect on the task, get feedback from the tutor, and to initiate and finish the work that he / she is expected to hand-in. At the end of the 8th week, the intern will receive a corresponding certificate that outlines the expertise gathered within the 8 weeks of constructive and sustainable service.
As we are talking about a virtual internship, our possibilities of involving interns and specially external persons are limited. Please understand that only a very selected persons of the WMO inner circle have access to global consultancies. Further, we are strictly asked to maintain the highest level of secrecy regarding our counseling services. For this reason, our interns obtain a basic training in the first month and are more likely involved in the 'visual' part of our daily business in the second month. At this point, the internship deals with strategic topics such as field research, marketing, multimedia, and social networks. An upgrade to the general certificate of WMO - Mediator and Conflict Manager is possible. In such a case, please contact our communication centre.
2) Subscription Fees: In order to enable as many interns as possible to subscribe and to get out the benefits of such an experience, the tuition fee varies depending on the area were the individual student lives and is only a third part of the general course costs. These prices refer to the online version of the internship. Payment: Paypal and Credit Card (Proceed as Paypal Guest) or use Western Union / Money Gram (ask for payment information). Please inform us which option you choose. Payments are not refundable.
