Ms Harshitha Ram is enrolled in the Bar of Tamil Nadu, India since 2008. She pursued Master of Laws, LL.M Dispute Resolution from the University of Glamorgan, UK and awarded the Corbert Spurin Memorial Prize for the outstanding postgraduate student in Dispute Resolution. During her stay in the UK, she was nominated for the Prestigious Dean’s Award and had an exclusive ceremony for her exceptional academic skills exhibited at the University of Glamorgan. She had actively assisted the Welsh County on various Mediation cases and had also obtained the prestigious Fellowship at the CIArb, London, as one of the youngest members of the Institute. She had contributed as a Research associate at the CIArb in their publications. Back in India, she worked for a top law firm and now administers her own firm: Lex Apotheke, where she is the Managing Partner and the Advisor for the Council for National and International Commercial Arbitration, Chennai. Her passion for and expertise in Alternative Dispute Resolution (over 200 Cases in India and in the UK) has elevated her as the Semi-final panelist at the Willem C. Vis (East) Moot, Hong Kong, 2013.
With the broader vision of promoting Mediation, Harshitha has tailor-made some specific course structure to comply with the present scenario in partnership with the World Mediation Organization (WMO) - formerly known as World-Mediation-Centre -, where she holds the position of District Manager and Local Lecturer - Chennai. Regarding the spectrum of WMO, she sees a broad potential for Mediaton to take over on the upcoming business arena as the best mode of dispute resolution and is aiming to work hand in hand implementing a much wider aspect of promoting the academic and the pragmatic approach of mediation through the most renowned WMO.
